BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 04/12/2010 by Andrew04/12/2010

Went on a small bike ride today with Norman, Went to Phon Sung,Om ko,Dong Yen,Ban Muang and then back to Ban Dung. I was reminded there are still a few routes I don’t know going of the 2022 which I must do some time

Alternative Route to Ban Muang

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 02/12/2010 by Andrew02/12/2010

Went looking for an alternative ,more direct route to Ban Muang. Unfortunatley I didn’t see the Red road I was looking for. Looking at the map again later It was a lot smaller than first appeared which is why I probably failed to spot it. I ended up taking the Tarmac Highways before ending up at Bo Sila after 3 hours and only 27k from Ban Dung . Since it was another 30k to Ban Muang from there I decided to return Home down the lanes and find the route to the temple near Kam Chanot. Got home after 5 hrs – I will try again in a few week to find the route

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 21/11/2010 by Andrew21/11/2010

Today is Loy Gratong Day – However Bandung also had an unofficial  Loy Gratong day last Friday(19TH)  with a big festival at the sports complex. That is when we went to float our Gratong on the water. This year the goverment has stated that they should be biodegradable and not made from plastic

Bike Ride – Kam Chanot

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 20/11/2010 by Andrew20/11/2010

Went for a four hour bike ride covering most of the tracks towards Kam Chanot. Also went to the temple just west of Kam Chanot which I had never been to before. Its not very well sign posted and so difficult to find if you don’t know the way.

Rice Harvest

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 11/11/2010 by Andrew11/11/2010

The Rice crop is in 180 Sacks of Rice  of 19 Rai , Tims Parents had 40 Sacks, 5 for her Aunty, 5 for the threshing mashine leaving us with 130 sacks – and nowhere to store them at the moment .

They are still in their Husk and  isn’t hulled until just before its used so it preserves longer

Trip to Phon Phisai

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 07/11/2010 by Andrew18/05/2011

Went to Phon Phisai today with Martin and Norman – Took the new short way there which ended up being 48k. When  we arrived  it was Market day and so had difficulty getting along the water front. Then we had a quick tour around looking for somewhere to eat before finding a small roadside eating places. For the return journey we went via Sang Khom and then onto Eddies village before returning to Ban Dung – a total distance of 115k . We called in at Garys for a couple of drinks before ending up at Eddies .
