Due to flooding Kham Chanot has been temporarily closed to tourists – Hence the reduced traffic over the past few days.
It Looks like it must be an annual event now. There were also stalls set up selling Bike bits.
Another PTT station is being Built on the site of the former Garry’s Bar & Opposite an existing Petrol Station. Will this mean Yet another 7-Eleven & Amazon Coffee Shop ??
The Songkran festivities were somewhat dampened over the first two days due to storms & heavy rain in the morning with temperatures lower than normal during the day.
The usual Parade was delayed by an hour but still took place despite this setback.
Ever Since Kham Chanot appeared on a Thai Soap Opera, tourists have been flooding to the temple traveling from all over the country. Literally hundreds of roadsides stalls have appeared along all the major ( & some minor ) roads to the temple selling flower displays in the form of a Naga.
The car park has been extended & additional ones have been created outside the temple grounds to cater for all the Cars,Mini buses and coaches arriving in a steady stream.
The traffic through Ban Dung is now considerable as the locals try to capitalise on the arrival of all these new visitors .
The Site has now been cleared & portakabins were being installed. Judging by the size of the plot – it really is going to be a BIG C.
Building work continues as the foundations are laid and the start of the main structure commences.
This sign has just appeared on the Salt Road (2096).
