The former Gary’s Bar is due to Re-Open as a Grill restaurant called the Jungle grill. My information is that it will be marketed as a Restaurant selling beer rather than a Bar selling food . The new owner is English & awaiting New signs,etc.etc before they open.

3 Amphoers Ride
Had a ride out to Amphoer Pen (41k) via track & Tarmac roads .
From there I went along the 2329 to Amphoer Sang khom ( against a head wind – 26k) and then returned directly to Ban Dung Via Kut Du. Total Distance 95k in 5hrs 20m.

Went to Dong Dara today at Ians request to Check out Santiphap Media; Still unsure what they actually do ?!.
Road Wideneing
They have just started Widening the road from Nong Han to the Ban Dung turn off on route 22. It should make this way faster & safer. Why didn’t they complete these last few kilometers when they widened the road from Udon to Nong Han in the first place ??
New VIP coach service

Ride to Ban Daeng
Had a solo ride out to Ban Daeng ( Phibunrak). Went the long way there & back. Near Na Sai they had the winter Rice growing thanks to it being irregated.
From Na Sai I discovered they had tarmacd one of the country lanes almost all the way to Ban Nam Thaeng;
Why they spent the money on a rarely used route when the main roads are in such a state of disrepair is beyond me.
TOPS
I have it on good authority a TOPS food market is to open in town next month. It will occupy the old motorbike shop where the road narrows from 2 to 1 lane as you approach town from the Hospital. Work has already started fitting it out.
