Went to Sawang Daen Din today on my bike, I went the back road and the 6k red ash section has now been tarmac'd making this a goon road and 10k shorter than going the other way, Took some photos whilst I was there which I uploaded to my website and to Panoramio for inclusion in Google Earth

New Years Eve
Have been to udon today for the monthly shop. Got stopped three times by the police who are out in force checking for drunk drivers – apparently there have been a lot of fatalities already in Thailand. Big C was packed – I have never seen so many people in there before – all buying stuff for New years Eve parties – all their relatives will have come up from Bangkok for the festivities.. Give them a reason and the Thais will have a party
Fair In town
There has been a fair in town for the past few days . It is here untill the new year. New years eve there is going to be yet another concert.
Busy day
Went for a Bike ride to Sang Khom in the morning going out the long way, Took some pictures of Sang khom and some other villages for my web site and to upload to Google earth. On the way back many people were planting 3 month rice in the surrounding wetlands. This is a second crop of rice that you can grow in 3 months between the main crop. The only criteria is thay you need water to grow it. Most areas can not grow it until the rains come again.
In the afternoon there was a big parade through Ban Dung, this was put on by goverment employees, so there were floats from the police, schools etc. As well as the compulsory Thai Dancing groups.
Also from where I was standing there were 3 new buildings being built and I passed more on the way to the main street. Ban Dung seems to be a town on the up with the road widening and more buisinesses moving int the town.
X-Mas
Went for x-mas lunch in Eddies, came home at 5 0’clock .All the locals were working day today , for them its just a normal day. Just looked still some people in the bar.
Thung Fon
Have been to Thung Fon today on my bike to take some photos for my web site.

I went out the scenic route and on the way passed a couple of Elephant . Also on the way back there were loads ofTrucks loaded with cattle , presumably they were taking them to the abertoir in Ban Dung. Total journey time was a little over four hours ( 85k) .
Tonight there is another concert in Ban Dung Park, Tim will be going but I will be having a night in.
Web Site Update
Spent most of the day updating and restructuring my web site. I have also included a map of Bandung with all the points of interest. I still yhave some more information to uipdate but hopefully the majority has now been completed
Upgrade web site
Spent the morning upgrading my website to the latest version of wordpress as well as updating all the plugins to the latest releases. Then started to update the content with the photographs I took yesterday.
