Eddies Bar – End of an Era?

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 04/04/2014 by Andrew27/03/2015

Well it has finally happened , Eddie has move out and the new owners Jack & Kevin have taken over the reins. As promised at the moment everything remains unchanged and the clientele for the most part also remains the same.

Eddies Sports Bar

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 24/03/2014 by Andrew27/03/2015

After months of speculation the sale of Eddies Sport Bar is almost complete. The New Owners Jack & Kevin from Australia will take over on the 1st April ( No Joke). The Bar will retain the same name and no major changes will take place according to the new owners. So it will be business as usual. I will post more information on eddiesbar.bandunglife.net as it becomes available.

Tims Food Shop

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 08/03/2014 by Andrew30/04/2022

Tims food stall has been up & running for a while now. She used to have a hand cart where she sold food outside her sister’s shop but I was persuaded to build her a new kitchen and food counter at the front of the house.

She gets up a 3 o’clock most mornings to start preparing the food and by opening time at 6 o’clock it is ready for sale.

Customers arrive in a steady stream and she has usually sold out between 7&8 in the morning.

I know she likes cooking & is very good ( Both Thai and Western Cuisine) but what motivates her to get up that early every day I don’t know since she already has other businesses on the go.

Mushroom Farming

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 08/03/2014 by Andrew01/05/2022

Our Latest Venture is Mushroom Farming down on the farm ( Better returns than rice & all year round). After Leveling the land , channels were dug and they were filled with blocks pre-impregnated with mushroom  spores.

The Blocks are then watered as well as the surrounding ground and  then covered over with a Polly tunnel.

Finally the polly tunnels are covered with straw to keep the light out.

After a few days the Mushrooms are ready for harvesting. These are a few of the first crop – ready for sale.

Ride To Nowhere

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 25/01/2014 by Andrew01/05/2022

Went for a Bike Ride with Ian and Martin to Show then the road to Nowhere just outside KudKha

However things had changed since my last visit and soon it looks as if it will be going somewhere , i.e the next village

However it seems to be a lot of expense for a road with no real purpose as there are roads not far away linking the same two roads together.

Yet Another Hotel

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 26/12/2013 by Andrew15/04/2022

Another Hotel has opened in town Between the Grand and M&B Mansion . Liteally translated its Name is Luck-Pie-Shrine to Ghosts-Plate, Where Pie is an obsolete Thai coin – How that translates colloquially I don’t know – nor does my wife.  After the name in smaller letters is Beautiful Jasmine.  Therfore I Think for future reference I will just call it the Jasmine Hotel. Since there are no signs in English I presume it is aimed at the Thai market.  I have no details on prices.

New Tesco

BANDUNGLIFE Posted on 26/12/2013 by Andrew03/05/2022

Another Tesco – This Time a Tesco express has opened in Ban Dung. It is located Just before the entrance to the Park Area as you approach it from Hospital side of town.
